Dr.
Richard Good - Co-Director
Dr. Rick Good
was promoted to Director of Bands and
Associate Professor of
Conducting in 2007. Prior to that promotion
he served from 1995 as Marching Band
Director and Associate Professor of Low
Brass at Auburn University. Under his
direction the Auburn University Marching
Band received national acclaim. The marching
band’s membership grew from 275 to 375, the
largest marching band in the history of
Auburn University, during his tenure as
director, and in 2004, the AU Marching Band
received the Sudler Trophy Award, the
nation's highest and most coveted award for
college and university marching bands. In
January of 2005, the band was selected by
the Presidential Inaugural Committee to
attend the Inaugural Parade of George W.
Bush. In 2006, the band was selected as one
of the top ten marching bands in the country
featured at the LSU Hall of Fame Museum
entitled “America’s Finest University
Marching Bands.”
He received
his Bachelors degree in Music Education from
Mansfield University in Pennsylvania, a
Master of Music degree in Wind Conducting
from Louisiana State University, and a
Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Euphonium
Performance from Arizona State University.
Before coming to Auburn, Dr. Good was
previously the Acting Associate Director of
Bands at Arizona State University. He
has also performed professionally at Busch
Gardens theme park in Virginia. Dr.
Good originally hails from Allentown, PA,
which is affectionately know as Band City,
USA. He is active as a performer,
clinician, and adjudicator throughout the
country and holds various memberships in
professional organizations. |

Dr. Jon
Woods - Co-Director
Dr.
Jon Woods is in his twenty-third
year as Director of The Ohio State
University Marching Band. He served as
Associate Director for ten years before
coming director. His duties with the band
include Principal Field Conductor, Show
Coordinator, and Administrator. Dr. Woods
also serves as administrative coordinator
and conductor of all Athletic Bands, which
provide for various campus sporting events.
As a faculty member of the School of Music,
his teaching responsibilities include
graduate music courses, graduate advising
for masters and doctoral students, secondary
instrumental methods, marching band
techniques, supervision of student teachers,
and principal conductor of The Concert
Repertory Band.
A recipient of the
School of Music Distinguished Teaching Award,
Dr. Woods is recognized nationally as a
clinician and adjudicator for both marching
and concert band festivals. He received his
Bachelors Degree from the Indiana University
of Pennsylvania, his Masters Degree from The
Pennsylvania State University and his Ph.D.
from The University of Michigan. |

Dr.
Douglas
Rosener
Dr. Rosener is
currently the Associate Director of Bands at
Auburn University, AL. Doug received
his Bachelors degree in Music Education from
Penn State University, his Masters in
Percussion Performance from the University
of North Texas, and his Doctorate in
Percussion Performance from the University
of Colorado in Boulder.
Dr. Rosener’s previous
appointments include Director of Percussion
Studies at Sam Houston State University in
Huntsville, Texas, and as Interim Director
of Percussion Studies at Central Washington
University in Ellensburg, Washington. He has
also served as battery caption head of the
Blue Knights WGI percussion ensemble from
Denver, Colorado, winning three world
championships and three second place
finishes in six years. Several of Dr.
Rosener’s percussion ensemble compositions
and arrangements have been published through
Drop6 Publications, and he continues to
remain active as a percussion
composer/arranger, clinician, and judge for
High Schools and Universities throughout the
United States. Dr. Rosener is an
Artist/Clinician for Vic Firth and Sabian.
