THE CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL PARTNERS
WITH MUSIC FESTIVALS IN 2007
The two companies combine to create Music City Rising Star Youth Vocal Soloist
Competition.
NASHVILLE, TN – In celebration of the 2007 CMA Music Festival, CMA has selected
MUSIC FESTIVALS as its partner in the creation of the
Music City Rising Star Youth Vocal Soloist Competition.
The competition, comprised of high school students, will be a featured event in
the Crisco® Family Zone area during the four-day festival held in Nashville, TN
June 7 – 10, 2007.
CMA Music Festival, which launched in 1972 as Fan Fair®, takes place annually in
Downtown Nashville. The four-day festival features more than 70 hours of live
music, 30-plus hours of autograph signings, more than 400 Country Music artists
and celebrities, popular exhibits, theme zones and special events. The 2006 CMA
Music Festival was the biggest in event history with more than 161,000 fans
throughout the event representing every state and 27 foreign countries. The 2007

Applications for the Music City Rising Star will be accepted on a
first-come-first-served basis for the coveted spots. MUSIC FESTIVALS is offering
competition in the categories of vocal soloists and vocal/instrumental soloist.
A non-refundable $15.00 application processing fee is required. All accepted
students will be notified by mail.
The 250 young vocalists will be adjudicated by vocal music educators and
industry experts throughout the weekend. All students participating will receive
tickets to enjoy the four nights of CMA Music Festival concerts, as well as all
other festival activities concluding with an awards ceremony to be held at the
Wildhorse Saloon. The eligible students must be enrolled freshmen to senior
(7th-12th grade) jr. high and high school students during the 2006-2007 school
year.
During the vocalists’ time in Nashville they will have the opportunity to
compete for a very special prize package, including a trip for two to The 41st
Annual CMA Awards.
In addition to participating in the competition, all selected participants’
hotel package plans will include meals, lodging at the Gaylord Opryland Resort
and Convention Center Nashville, daily transportation to downtown Nashville, a
four-day ticket to all CMA Music Festival events and Grand Awards Ceremony at
the Wildhorse Saloon. Competition and Festival only packages available.
