Great American Marching Band

• 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. - Meet a Macy's Great American Marching Band representative at airport for transfer to hotel or, if driving, arrive at host hotel
• 11:00 a.m. - Macy's Great American Marching Band Registration Table opens at the host hotel. Luggage storage available
• 4:00 p.m. - Earliest time that participants will be allowed access to their sleeping rooms
  
• 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. - Uniform Fittings at hotel
• 6:00 p.m. - Participants must have arrived at airport
  
• 7:00 p.m. - Driving participants must be checked into hotel
• 8:00 p.m. - Welcome & Group Meeting (Required) in Amphitheater
  
• 8:00 p.m. - Chaperone Meeting
• 9:30 p.m. - In rooms for evening/Bed check/Meet your chaperone (see final itinerary)
  

• 7:45 AM - "Welcome Breakfast" at hotel (students are required to attend breakfast each day)
  
• All Day - Sightseeing and Attraction
  
• Lunch provided. Dinner on own
  
• 7:00 PM - Band Member, Dancer and Guard Rehearsal at Hotel
  
  

• Morning - Breakfast at hotel (Grand Ballroom)
• All-Day - Rehearsal at Teaneck Sports Coliseum & Hotel with lunch provided
  
• Evening- Dinner at a local restaurant
  
• 8:30 p.m. - Engaging student leadership session with a guest speaker at Hotel
• Following leadership session will be bed checks
  

• Morning - Breakfast at Hotel
  Rehearsal at Teaneck & Hotel
• Afternoon- Load motorcoaches and head to downtown New York City
  
• Group Lunch and Free time to purchase lunch on own and to shop for souvenir in Times Square area
  Evening - Dinner on your own
  
• Return to hotel

• Morning- Breakfast at Hotel
  Rehearsal at Teaneck
• Late morning - Load motorcoaches and head to America Dream Mall. Gift Card provided for lunch.
  
• Evening - Group Dinner at the hotel
  
• Pick up uniforms (Times To Be Announced by motorcoach)
  
• Following Uniform Pick-up - Room check / lights out - MANDATORY as we have a early morning on Thursday!
  

Rehearsal scheduled is released closer to the parade and will be on the final itinerary in your check-in packet.  Here is a sample of a previous year to give you an idea of the events for the day.

• 2:30 a.m. - Auxiliary Meets in Uniform Room in full hair/make-up/uniform
  3:00 a.m. - Members meet in lobby in uniform
  3:30 a.m. - Depart hotel for early morning run through for NBC Cameras
  Upon Arrival - Warm-up and meet Band Captain assigned by Macy's
  4:30 a.m. - Rehearsal of performance for NBC
• 5:30 a.m. - Breakfast at Hard Rock Cafe
  
• 7:45 a.m. - Band arrives and unloads in uptown staging area
• 9:00 AM - The Parade Steps-off (NBC showing Broadway Acts and other Performers)
  
• TBA - MGAMB Position in the parade line-up
  TBA - Perform in Herald Square in front of Macy's
  Following Performance - Return to hotel.
  
• Enjoy the casual lunch Buffet at the hotel, Change and Hand-in Uniforms, Percussion instruments and Sousaphones. Percussionist and Sousaphone players must assist with packing and loading of these instruments in the equipment truck. Percussionist will need to remove all parade heads and replace with the heads that came with the drums. Once you have removed your parade head, you will then get to keep one head for a souvenir. Cymbal players will be given one of the heads from the quints. Cymbal players will assist with this process as well and turn in your cymbals. Instructions will be given by one of the percussion staff.
  Pack for tomorrow's departure
• 5:45 p.m. - Report to Grand Ballroom to begin dinner seating; any students departing with parents following dinner must bring their luggage down to the ballroom area for storage
• 6:00-9:00 p.m. - Closing Ceremony with Thanksgiving Dinner, Dance, and Reception with Parents and Friends
  

• Morning - Turn in keys and sign out/check out for shuttle departure or drive home
  Transfer to airport/train station on provided shuttles (Breakfast will not be offered this morning)
  
• 9:30 a.m. - All Participants must be checked out of Hotel

This is a sample Itinerary so you can get an idea of what the week may look like- The itinerary we will follow will be in your check-in packet. Itinerary is subject to finalization the week of the parade. Attractions and meal locations are subject to change at any time. Macy's Annual Events determines parade order of march and rehearsal times. Itinerary may be changed at any time during the week to address safety or logistical issues.
