Dr. Richard GoodCo-Director

Dr. Rick Good was promoted to Director of Bands and Associate Professor of Conducting in 2007. Prior to that promotion he served from 1995 as Marching Band Director and Associate Professor of Low Brass at Auburn University. Under his direction the Auburn University Marching Band received national acclaim. The marching band’s membership grew from 275 to 375, the largest marching band in the history of Auburn University, during his tenure as director, and in 2004, the AU Marching Band received the Sudler Trophy Award, the nation's highest and most coveted award for college and university marching bands. In January of 2005, the band was selected by the Presidential Inaugural Committee to attend the Inaugural Parade of George W. Bush. In 2006, the band was selected as one of the top ten marching bands in the country featured at the LSU Hall of Fame Museum entitled “America’s Finest University Marching Bands.”

He received his Bachelors degree in Music Education from Mansfield University in Pennsylvania, a Master of Music degree in Wind Conducting from Louisiana State University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Euphonium Performance from Arizona State University. Before coming to Auburn, Dr. Good was previously the Acting Associate Director of Bands at Arizona State University. He has also performed professionally at Busch Gardens theme park in Virginia. Dr. Good originally hails from Allentown, PA, which is affectionately know as Band City, USA. He is active as a performer, clinician, and adjudicator throughout the country and holds various memberships in professional organizations.

Dr. Douglas RosenerDr. Rosener is currently the Associate Director of Bands at Auburn University, AL. Doug received his Bachelors degree in Music Education from Penn State University, his Masters in Percussion Performance from the University of North Texas, and his Doctorate in Percussion Performance from the University of Colorado in Boulder. Dr. Rosener’s previous appointments include Director of Percussion Studies at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, and as Interim Director of Percussion Studies at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington. He has also served as battery caption head of the Blue Knights WGI percussion ensemble from Denver, Colorado, winning three world championships and three second place finishes in six years. Several of Dr. Rosener’s percussion ensemble compositions and arrangements have been published through Drop6 Publications, and he continues to remain active as a percussion composer/arranger, clinician, and judge for High Schools and Universities throughout the United States. Dr. Rosener is an Artist/Clinician for Vic Firth and Sabian.
Mr. Barry HouserBarry L. Houser is the Assistant Director of Bands and Director of the Marching Illini and Athletic Bands at the University of Illinois.  Appointed to his new position in 2011, Prof. Houser has most recently served as Director of Bands & Director of Athletic Bands at Eastern Illinois University.  His success at Eastern Illinois is a matter of record and has been the source of positive national attention.  He has successfully taught public school (elementary through high school) and is a respected school band clinician throughout the country.  Prof. Houser is active nationally as a guest conductor and clinician and is the Director and Head Clinician for Smith-Walbridge Clinics, one of the largest marching band / leadership camps of its type in the country.
Mr. Bart WoodleyBart Woodley has been working in the marching arts for over 20 years. After performing with the color guard of the Cavalier Drum and Bugle Corps and in Escapade Winter Guard, he began instructing programs such as Pride of Cincinnati Winter Guard, Center Grove High School, Centerville High School and the Cavaliers. Throughout a career with various marching bands, drum corps and winter guards, Bart has served in the role of director, coordinator, caption-head, choreographer, designer, technician, clinician, and judge. Bart holds degrees in Public Relations and Advertising from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana and is the Marketing Manager for WGI Sports of the Arts.
Mr. Greg LagolaThis year marks the 29th year of Greg's involvement with the color guard world. Lagola has served on the creative team of the World Champion Cadets Drum Corps for the past 20 years. Greg also served on the design team as an equipment writer for the World Champion Emerald Marquis Winterguard from 1990 through 2001. In addition, Greg is a designer for the Santa Clara Vanguard winter guard for 2009. Greg has also designed costumes for various color guards and is currently the designer of the "Greg" collection available through Fred J. Miller Inc. He received his BA in Art from Pennsylvania State University, and an AAS from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
